Won’t Leave You

While life may leave you far behind
you may have lost a fight or have been left behind
you trudge ahead for life and time
Your breath and heart’s beat won’t leave you

When mountains seem to steep to climb
the abyss too deep the fall so far, so sublime
the mud so thick as yellow slime
Your hands and feet won’t leave you

When desert’s sands turn to dust
and Oasis soft breezes turn to wind-blown gusts
the bodies metal may turn to rust
Your mind and soul won’t leave you

Though no others stand up to fight
you are shouting alone what you know as right
your voice grows hoarse but oh so bright
your ideals and dreams won’t leave you

Wow – this is just beautiful – so emotionally alive and breathing!! I hate winter & I’ve been unemployed for longer than I ever imagined I would be, so this was so inspiring, encouraging 🙂

Printing this one up to hang on my desk ❤

    Well done, John, well done!!!
